Pre-Game Marketing Workout for B2B Businesses

Your insights + our experience = a practical marketing plan for your business

Pre-Game Marketing Workout

Our marketing plans don’t collect dust

The Pre-Game Marketing Workout gives you a marketing plan to execute yourself or hire a marketer (like us) to do for you.

Here’s what’s included:

  • Prioritized markets and opportunities so you focus on what’s most profitable

  • Messaging recommendations to focus the audience attention on what they need to hear

  • Recommended tactics so you know where to start and how to spend your marketing dollars

What’s involved in the Pre-Game Marketing Workout

The Pre-Game Marketing Workout is a 2 ½ hour session with your team and ours.  We ask you questions about your goals, markets, competitors, and customers.  We combine that with market research to make recommendations that focus your marketing efforts and increase your return on marketing investments.

Step 1: The Research

Before the session, the Bench Strength team does research on your industry and competitors so we come prepared.

Step 2: The Session

These meetings happen virtually or in person and are casual conversations about your business. They average 2.5 hours.

Step 3: The Draft

We’ll be in touch as we develop the first draft of your business plan to confirm details so we know we’re on the right track.

Step 4: The Presentation

Once the draft is complete, we’ll schedule a meeting to present it to you, answer your questions, and take your feedback.

Step 5: Your Plan

We’ll use your feedback to finalize your marketing plan and send it to you. The plan is practical so you can execute it yourself.

Is there a Step 6?

There can be. If you need help putting the plan into action, we can step in with ongoing support.

We have really enjoyed working with Bench Strength on the building of our market plan/strategy at Redekop.  Jill and Carla bring a practical approach to the process that makes it easy to work with.  Their depth of knowledge and expertise on market strategy and execution is excellent.  They are easy to work with, consistent in their communication and transparent on their process.

They very quickly grasped the depth and breadth of the businesses marketing challenges and engaged all stakeholders in the process.  It has felt throughout the process that they are as committed to our businesses success as we are.  I have no concerns recommending them as a valuable strategic partner.

Frequently asked questions about the Pre-Game Marketing Workout

If we’re helping you with a single industry or product, the cost is $6500.  For more than one industry or product, we can provide a custom quote.

The initial session average 2 ½ hours.  After that session, you should expect the first draft presentation within 30 days and the final marketing plan 14 days after that.

Many of our clients keep us involved in the day-to-day of their marketing after the Pre-Game Workout.  We help them build out the plan and continue to refine it over time.  But that’s not necessary.  If you have marketing resources in-house or want to hire another company or freelancer to help you with the day-to-day, the document is meant to be practical and easily executed by someone with marketing know-how.

Ideally, we’d like to see the details and examples of current and past marketing efforts.  It’s also helpful for us to know what your marketing budget is so we can create a plan based on it.  If you’re working with current marketing suppliers it’s good for us to know what they’re doing for you and how those relationships are working.

It’s most important that we have the right people in the room, but generally prefer you limit the number of employees to 4 or fewer.  Typically, we have the CEO and sales leadership in the room.  Sometimes we also include someone who has been involved in the day-to-day marketing tasks.

Maybe.  Quite likely.  Jill and Carla lead the Pre-Game Workout and there aren’t many industries they haven’t been involved in over their careers.  But, more importantly, they’ve been working for B2B businesses for a very long time.  If an industry is new to us, we do our research first and come prepared to learn quickly then apply best practices from other industries to yours.
